Climbing Crags Guidebook for Cortina – 2nd Edition
The second edition of the climbing crags guidebook for Cortina is now available in bookstores.
Five years after the first edition, the new guide has been published with a completely redesigned layout and, more importantly, with all the new routes local climbers have developed on the area’s most beautiful rock faces.
Climbing in the Ampezzo Basin and nearby areas has undergone a remarkable evolution in recent years, both in the quality and difficulty of the routes and in their number. Thanks to the dedication and passion of many local climbers, numerous new crags have been developed, giving the activity greater variety and offering climbing enthusiasts many new places and rock types to discover.
The guide includes descriptions of the following crags:
Rio Gere, Crepo Longo, Sasso di Colfiere, La Lavagna, Campo e Volpera, Crepe di Pantèi, In pò crepa, Crepe de Oucera Bassi, Crepe de Oucera Alti, Beco d’Ajal, Croda da Lago, Cinque Torri, Duca, Piccolo Lagazuoi, Sass de Stria, Setsas, Salares, San Bodo, Son Pouses, Nasswand, Val Rienza, Franchi, Val di Landro, Lago di Landro, Stube, Geierwand, Landro Classica, Grottone.
This is a highly anticipated publication, as the previous edition of the climbing crags guidebook for Cortina and the surrounding areas has long been out of print and is now nearly impossible to find.

The author
The Scoiattoli di Cortina are a historic group of climbers.
The group was founded on July 1st, 1939, by ten young men from Cortina who shared a passion for the mountains and sport climbing.
Members of the group are recognized by a white squirrel embroidered on the left sleeve of a red sweater.
This emblem is inseparably linked to many mountaineering achievements, including the historic ascent of K2 on July 31st, 1954, by Lino Lacedelli. Read more here: gli Scoiattoli di Cortina.
